In 2021, wave goodbye to awkward family photos.
Gone are the days when the whole family would stand awkwardly to get themselves clicked on special occasions—no more of the forced smiles and hugs.
The digital age and current trends have introduced professional family photography to help the whole family get shots that capture the true warmth and affection of the bond.
Having these family portraits around the house help strengthen the values of the family by fostering a sense of belonging. They can boost moods and spirits and keep the love alive on hard days.
If you haven’t yet booked a family photography session, Artin Photography is here to take care of it.
We capture the uniqueness of your family at affordable rates in Vancouver and Port Coquitlam, BC.
Once you’ve planned your session, here are a few things you’ll need to do:
Pick A Theme
It always helps to have an idea of what you want and then allow the photographer to tweak it.
In the days preceding your family photoshoot, browse the internet and specifically Pinterest to narrow down a few themes that appeal to you.
Share these with your photographer so they can add to it and advise you accordingly. Once you’ve finalized your theme, work on grabbing the perfect outfits for all.
Remember to coordinate colours, not match them. Everyone doesn’t need to be wearing the same outfit, but every outfit must match the theme and overall vibe of the shoot.
Plan and Prep
Like for everything else in the world, planning is key.
Dedicating a certain degree of time and effort to preparing for your photoshoot can help you get the perfect shots without any last-minute stress.
For grooming yourself, you might want to get your nails done, get the good jewellery out, and deal with any overgrown roots or brassy hair. Men might also want to get their hair and beard trimmed.
You may have to cancel and reschedule certain other appointments for your child or parents so that everyone is available on the desired days.
Mark the date on the calendar so that you don’t confuse it.
What to Bring:
While a photographer will provide you with all necessary props and backgrounds, here’s a list of personal belongings that we recommend you carry with you:
- All necessary items for the younger ones including diapers, meals, wipes, etc.
- A few snacks and juices in case someone gets hungry.
- A water bottle for the whole family.
- A change of clothes for the little ones.
- Extra pair of shoes if you’re wearing heels.
- Hairbrushes, combs, and any makeup required for touch-ups.
