Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can we include pets or extended family members?

Absolutely! Pets and extended family are welcome in family sessions. Just let us know ahead of time—and we’ll help decide if your studio space is a good fit.

What should I do if I’m camera-shy?

No stress! I guide you with gentle prompts and fun, natural poses—most clients relax in no time and leave surprised by how easy it feels.

Can I bring props, cultural items, or a theme?

Yes! Props, outfits, and cultural elements are encouraged—especially for cake smash or themed sessions. I also offer creative input if you’re undecided.

Do you offer outdoor sessions or help pick locations?

Definitely! I can recommend scenic spots around Port Moody or Lower Mainland. Outdoor sessions are weather‑dependent, so we plan ahead or shift indoors.

What if baby gets fussy?

Totally fine. I work at your baby’s pace with breaks, cuddles, and feeding time—creating a relaxed atmosphere so we still capture beautiful moments.

What if I’m late or need to cancel/reschedule?

Life happens. Just contact me ASAP—I’ll accommodate rescheduling when possible. Late arrivals may shorten the session, so arriving on time is best.

Do you offer mini-sessions?

Yes—seasonal mini-sessions like cake smashes or holiday portraits run at select times. Join my mailing list for updates.

Can I get styling help or a shot list in advance?

Yes! I provide a style guide and pre-session consult. Need outfit ideas or a pose list? I’m happy to share examples.

What if we go past the session’s time?

I’m flexible, but sessions are scheduled back-to-back—overtime may incur an extra fee. Contact me in advance if you’d like more time.

Do you charge for overtime?

Yes, additional session time is billed at a reduced per‑minute rate, depending on availability. Ask when booking.

How should I care for prints and albums?

Hang framed prints out of direct sunlight. Albums should be kept in a cool, dry place. I’ll provide care instructions with your order.

How large can the session group be?

Our average sessions comfortably hold 4–6 people. For extended family or large groups, we may need an outdoor location—just ask!

Do you accept tips or gratuities?

Gratuities are never expected but always appreciated. They are intended to reward excellent service—not required.

Do you offer commercial or business headshots?

Absolutely! I photograph actors, professionals, and business owners—feel free to contact me for pricing and branding info.

Are you insured?

Yes—I have full business liability insurance and can provide proof on request, so you can have peace of mind during sessions.

Can I view unedited photos before choosing?

Yes—after your session, you’ll receive an online proof gallery. You choose your favorites for final editing (no pressure to buy).

What about copyright and usage?

Images are copyright Artin Photography but come with a print and digital use license for personal, non-commercial use. Commercial use requires separate agreements.

Are weekend or holiday sessions available?

Yes—weekend and holiday sessions are available but limited. These fill quickly, so early booking is advised.

What equipment do you use?

I shoot with professional Canon mirrorless bodies, prime and zoom lenses, natural lighting, and studio flash setups for consistent quality.

Do you offer photography workshops or mentoring?

Currently, I’m focusing on client sessions. If you’re interested in future workshops or mentoring, please let me know!
