For a photographer, one of the perks of specializing in newborn photography or baby photography is that you get to meet some of the cutest little creatures in the world, none more so than Karley, who was hardly a week old when her parents brought her to our studio.
Gosh – Karley is so adorable! If only you could meet her! As you can see from her photographs, she is a precious little one. Just one look at Karley is enough to melt anyone’s heart.
We wanted to create a comfortable environment for Karley, and we had hoped to get her open her eyes even for a few seconds. But like with most newborn babies, Karley needs close to 24 hours of sleep.
So this is always a challenge in newborn photography – to take great photographs of the infant and make her look lively even when she is fast asleep.
Karley’s mom was with us and she really did help us a lot with the photography sessions. There is nothing more beautiful than the relationship between a mother and her child.
We were able to capture some great shots of Karley and mom and are particularly proud of the one that shows Karley being kissed on her forehead by her mom. That photograph captures the essence of the love that a parent has for her child.
We were able to get many poses out of Karley, although she was blissfully asleep throughout the newborn photography session. We had her wear a headband with a red rose and that contrasts beautifully against her soft milky white complexion.
We hoped to get her to gaze at the camera at least once, but that wasn’t to be. For Karley, getting her beauty sleep was more important than posing for the cameras. Bet that’s going to change when she is 14!
